New Headteacher - Oakridge Parochial School
It is a great privilege to be taking on the role of Headteacher at Oakridge Parochial School.
The school and community have been very welcoming, and I would like to thank everyone who has said hello and introduced themselves over my first few weeks.
I am very much looking forward to working alongside everyone to ensure we have the best possible educational opportunities for the children at the school.
We have organised an Open Day to take place on Tuesday 5th November for people to come and look around the school. I will be around during that day and would very much like to meet you. If you are not available, then please feel free to make an appointment to meet with me or come along at the start/end of the school day to say hello.
Best wishes, Jonathan Preston, Headteacher

Entries Up For The Village Show!
Many thanks to everyone who entered the show this year. I was extremely pleased to see that entries were up, despite a drop in the children's sections, making it the best year since 2014. For those that are interested, I have compiled a few statistics from previous years. Unfortunately I am missing the data from 2015.
We also made well over £2000 to be distributed equally between this year’s recipients: the school, church and village hall.

Did You Know?
Hire Our Village Hall
Siccaridge Wood is one of the few places in the Cotswolds in which the hazel dormouse makes its home, numbers of which are closely monitored as part of a national scheme, while wood ant nests can be found on the ground and silver washed fritillary and comma butterflies flit around the open rides.
The Arts and Crafts Movement
Oakridge was a hub of the Arts and Crafts Movement and famous painters, furniture makers, poets and other interesting people have lived here. Find out more at our Oakridge History Archive.
Just beyond Siccaridge Wood lies Daneway Banks, where the steep sides have almost lunar like bumps made by generations of yellow meadow ants. A classic example of limestone grassland, it is also home to the large blue butterfly which has been recently re-introduced after being extinct in the UK for several decades.
